About the grant

Nordic Energy Research invites tenders for the Collaborative Demand Flexibility Project. The purpose is to facilitate and promote the adoption of flexibility solutions to realise the benefits of flexibility in the Nordic region. The project shall increase energy authorities' and decision-makers' understanding of demand and supply flexibility and the development of market mechanisms in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Åland and Denmark. The study shall contribute to an informed approach to European legislation, such as upcoming guidelines for network codes for demand response, and provide better understanding of smart technologies' interaction with actors in the flexibility field to promote flexibility in appliances and systems according to the Ecodesign Directive and Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). The project includes mapping of flexibility services, database building, analysis of up to 12 case studies and development of policy recommendations to promote flexibility in buildings and smart appliances.
