About the grant
The European partnership Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) provides support for research and innovation projects that assist cities in transitioning to sustainable economies and societies. The first call showed great interest among European actors, with Sweden having the most participants and main applicants. Swedish funders Formas, the Swedish Energy Agency and Vinnova contributed approximately SEK 42 million for the first call. Researchers, cities, municipalities, companies, civil society and other stakeholders involved in urban climate transition can apply for funding for international research and innovation projects with interdisciplinary approaches. In the autumn, Formas and the Swedish Energy Agency will announce new funding within the framework of the partnership. The European Commission and 27 European countries, including South Korea and Canada in the second call, have a budget of approximately EUR 100 million for projects within urban transition.
Requirements
- Researchers, cities, municipalities, companies, civil society and other stakeholders active in urban climate transition can apply.
- Projects must be international research and innovation projects with interdisciplinary approaches.
