About the grant

EIT Health awarded a total of €330,000 in grants to the winners of the Headstart/Proof of Concept pitch competition on 5 July 2019 in Brussels. The competition included twelve innovative healthcare start-ups from Innostars countries within the categories medtech, biotech and digital health. The top three in each category received grants for business development and international market expansion: first prize €50,000, second prize €35,000 and third prize €25,000. The competition was also the first step in the European Health Catapult, where the two best in each category advanced to bootcamps and the final in December 2019.

Requirements

  • The company must be a start-up within healthcare from Innostars countries.
  • Participation in the pitch competition and assessment by an international jury.
