About the grant
Nordic Energy Research announces an open call for research projects within the framework of the Joint Baltic-Nordic Energy Research Programme in collaboration with the Lithuanian Ministry of Energy. The aim is to fund up to three research consortia with Nordic and Lithuanian partners focusing on key challenges in the energy sector across the entire Baltic and Nordic region. The projects shall address themes such as renewable hydrogen economy, regional energy infrastructure and digitalisation, carbon capture, wind power development and storage solutions. The projects shall have a Baltic-Nordic perspective and contribute to knowledge and policy recommendations for the region. A total of 8.2 million NOK is available, with up to 2.72 million NOK per project for a period of up to 2 years. Applications must be submitted by 3 April 2024 and projects are planned to start on 1 June 2024.
Requirements
- Research consortia with partners from the Nordics (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and autonomous regions) and Lithuania.
- Research groups shall be based at universities, research institutes, public or private companies or organisations with a strong research profile.
- Other Baltic countries and partners outside the Baltic and Nordic countries may participate but are not eligible for funding from this call.
- Grants to partners outside defined research institutions are limited to the equivalent of 200,000 EUR per partner per 3-year period according to EU/EFTA de minimis aid rules.
- Co-financing is encouraged but not mandatory.
- 100% of project costs can be funded for research organisations as defined.
