About the grant
The SEB Innovation Scholarship is a scholarship from SEB's Development Foundation comprising a total of ten scholarships of SEK 200,000 each annually. The scholarship is aimed at entrepreneurially driven recent graduates and doctoral students from Swedish universities and colleges. Candidates must be nominated by a university-affiliated holding company, such as GU Ventures, and be connected to innovation projects or startup companies. The scholarship enables the entrepreneur to work full-time with their startup company to bring it to an investable stage. The entrepreneur must have completed or be completing their studies at master’s or doctoral level within twelve months prior to the scholarship period and have completed or be admitted to an entrepreneurship or business development programme of at least 5 weeks full-time. The startup company must have the right to commercialise research results, have low revenues (approx. SEK 200,000/year) and must not have received external investments exceeding SEK 500,000. Nominations are made via holding companies that are members of FUHS and open 15/11 2024 and close 15/1 2025.
Requirements
- The entrepreneur must be a recent graduate or doctoral student from a Swedish university/college, having completed or completing studies at master’s or doctoral level within 12 months prior to the scholarship period.
- The entrepreneur must have completed or be admitted to an entrepreneurship or business development programme or internship of at least 5 weeks full-time.
- The startup company must have the right to commercialise research results.
- The startup company must have low sales revenues (approx. SEK 200,000/year).
- The startup company must not have received external investments exceeding SEK 500,000 outside the holding companies.
- Nominations must be made via holding companies that are members of FUHS.
- A letter of recommendation from a local holding company or incubator is required.
- The work during the grant period must be carried out in close collaboration with a holding company or incubator that provides supervision.
