About the grant

The SKAPA Acceleration Grant for Women was established in memory of Margareta Andersson and aims to strengthen female innovators by supporting the development and commercialisation of innovative products or services with the potential to grow and contribute to societal benefit. The grant provides financial support, recognition, visibility and inspiration to take ideas to the next level. It is aimed at women who have won SKAPA’s regional prize or Stockholm City’s innovation grant after 2021, are resident and active in Sweden since January 2023, and who own at least 50% of the company with a product/service that has reached the market with at least one paying customer. The grant is to be used for marketing efforts such as trade fairs, marketing, sales materials or skills development and the project must be carried out within 18 months. Products/services related to tobacco and alcohol are not eligible. Assessment takes place in several stages and the winner is announced at the SKAPA Innovation Mixer in Stockholm. The prize is personal, tax-free and without obligation.

Requirements

• Woman who has developed a product or service that has recently reached the market (at least one paying customer).
• Previous winner of SKAPA's regional prize or Stockholm City's innovation grant after 2021.
• Resident and active in Sweden since January 2023.
• At least 18 years old.
• Owner and developer of the idea and owns at least 50% of the company.
• The idea must not have been developed within research or academic innovation support systems.
• The grant shall be used for marketing efforts such as trade fairs, marketing, sales materials or skills development.
• The project must be completed within 18 months.
• Products/services related to tobacco and alcohol are not rewarded.
