About the grant
The SKAPA Acceleration Grant for Women was established in memory of Margareta Andersson and aims to strengthen female innovators by supporting the development and commercialisation of innovative products or services with potential to grow and contribute to societal benefit. The grant is awarded to an innovator who demonstrates drive, innovation and growth potential. The recipient receives financial support, recognition, visibility and inspiration to take their idea to the next level. The grant is SEK 250,000 and is aimed at women who have developed a product or service recently launched on the market and have growth potential. Applications open spring 2026 and the application deadline is 31 May 2026. The winner is presented at the SKAPA Innovation Mixer on 13 November in Stockholm, where attendance is required. The grant is personal, tax-free and without consideration. The prize is paid to the company where the idea is developed or sold.
Requirements
- Female applicant who is resident and active in Sweden since January 2023 and is at least 18 years old.
- Applicants must have won SKAPA's regional prize or the City of Stockholm's innovation grant after 2021.
- The product or service must have reached the market with at least one paying customer.
- Applicants must be the owner and developer of the idea and own at least 50% of the company.
- The idea must not have been developed within research or academic innovation support systems.
- The grant shall be used for marketing efforts such as trade fairs, marketing, sales materials or skills development.
- The project must be completed within 18 months.
- Products/services related to tobacco and alcohol are not rewarded.
- Attendance at the award ceremony on 13 November 2026 in Stockholm is required.
- A credit check will be conducted on the applicant.
- Reporting on the use of funds must be submitted no later than 30 June 2028.
