About the grant
The Swedish Postcode Lottery Foundation finances projects run by non-profit associations, non-profit organisations or public benefit foundations within civil society that operate in the public interest. The projects should contribute to positive societal development in Sweden or globally and address societal challenges nationally or globally. The support enables change, innovation and engagement in areas such as democracy, human rights, climate, culture and wellbeing. The project must be carried out over a limited period, differ from the organisation's regular activities and contribute to one of the UN's global goals for sustainable development. Applications can be submitted at any time during the year and decisions are usually made within 4-6 weeks. Projects typically last 12-24 months. The average grant is approximately two million SEK, and grants under 700,000 SEK are rarely awarded. Support is not granted to economic associations, political party or religious organisations, the public sector, private individuals, student exchanges, short events or solely costs for travel, construction or renovation. A comprehensive assessment is made based on the organisation's capacity, relevance, method and implementation as well as impact.
