About the grant
The Living Planet Fellowship is a call from ESA aimed at supporting young researchers with a PhD who want to start a research career in the fields of earth observation, geoscience or climate research. Applications are made within one of ESA’s three programmes: Support To Science, Scientific Exploitation of the Sentinels or Climate Change Initiative. Selected projects can receive up to EUR 40,000 per year in co-funding for a postdoctoral position, as well as EUR 3,000 for costs related to travel, conference fees and publications. The applicant’s own institution must contribute at least 30% co-funding of the total cost for two years. The application period closes on 30 June.
Requirements
- Applicants must be young researchers with a PhD.
- The project must be within earth observation, geoscience or climate research.
- Applications must be submitted to ESA within one of the three programmes: Support To Science, Scientific Exploitation of the Sentinels or Climate Change Initiative.
- The applicant’s own institution must contribute at least 30% co-funding of the total cost for two years.
