About the grant
Viable Cities announces SEK 15 million for demonstration projects in the area of smart, sustainable cities. The programme is a strategic innovation programme supporting research and innovation for the transition to sustainable, resource-efficient cities with digitalisation and citizen engagement as driving forces. The goal is for cities to be resource-efficient, have 100% renewable energy use, be without net greenhouse gas emissions, facilitate sustainable lifestyles and have strong social cohesion. Applicants must consist of at least three independent actors from at least two actor groups; both established and new consortia are encouraged to apply. Consultation meetings are offered in September ahead of the application.
