About the grant
Verification Grant is a public grant that helps you test and validate an innovative business idea before taking the next step. The grant is used to reduce risks at an early development stage, for example by analysing customer needs, market potential, technology or business model. The goal is to provide a stronger basis for decisions before more time and resources are invested or other financing is sought. The grant can be used to purchase external services that verify critical parts of the business idea, such as verification of customer needs and market potential, market and competitor analyses, novelty searches or Freedom to Operate analyses, development of a simple MVP, legal or regulatory assessments. The grant may not be used for costs not directly related to verification, such as travel, representation, marketing, training, patent applications or prototypes that create lasting value. The grant is primarily aimed at Swedish small and medium-sized enterprises at an early stage as well as established companies wishing to develop an innovative business idea. In some cases, private individuals with a Swedish personal identity number, Swedish bank account and intention to start a company in Sweden may also apply. The grant is a so-called de minimis aid with a limit on how much public support a company can receive over a rolling three-year period. The amount is determined in dialogue with Almi and can be up to 100,000 SEK for companies and up to 25,000 SEK for private individuals. Applications are made via Almi's advisors and e-service, and the processing time is usually a few weeks.
