About the grant
Verification funds are a grant from Almi used to test and verify an innovative business idea before further investments are made. The support is used to reduce risks early in development by investigating customer needs, market, technology or business model. It targets Swedish SMEs in early phase as well as established companies wanting to develop an innovative business idea. In some cases, individuals with Swedish personal identity number, Swedish bank account and intention to start a company in Sweden can apply. The grant can be used to purchase external services that verify critical parts of the business idea, e.g. market analyses, legal investigations or development of MVP. It may not be used for costs such as travel, representation, marketing, training, patent applications or investments creating lasting value. Amount can be up to SEK 100,000 for companies and up to SEK 25,000 for individuals, varying by region and assessment. Verification funds normally require no co-financing and are given as de minimis aid with a cap of EUR 300,000 over a rolling three-year period. Application is made via Almi's advisors and e-service after dialogue and assessment of the business idea's potential.
