Vinnova Call for Dual Use Innovations

About the grant

Vinnova Call for Dual Use Innovations aims to accelerate civil-military innovation in Sweden by supporting Swedish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have civilian technology with the potential to strengthen defence capabilities. The support is provided in two stages, where this call concerns stage 1 with funding up to 1 million SEK to adapt technology, business model and market positioning towards defence applications. Stage 2 is an accelerator phase with additional support of 150,000 SEK, which is mandatory to participate in if proceeding. Only Swedish limited companies that qualify as SMEs according to the EU definition may apply. The project must be based on existing civilian technology and may not include retroactive costs. The application must align with Vinnova's strategic goals and may be submitted in Swedish or English. The application must not have a contract with FMV at the start. The call closes 9 September 2025 at 14:00.

Requirements

• Applicants must be Swedish limited companies (AB) and qualify as SMEs according to the EU definition.
• Only one application per company and only one project partner, no consortium.
• The project shall be based on existing civil technology developed by the applicant.
• No retroactive costs may be included.
• The project must be in line with Vinnova's strategic goals.
• The project must not have contracts with FMV at the project start.
• The application can be submitted in Swedish or English.
