Regional investment support

About the grant

Regional investment support can co-finance investments in tangible and intangible assets within selected support areas in Sweden. The support is given to companies whose investments are growth-oriented and contribute to sustainable development for the company and the region. The support can be given to small, medium-sized and large companies, but special rules apply to large companies which can only receive support for new establishments or new activities that differ from previous activities. The support level depends on the company's size and support area and can amount to a maximum of 40 percent of the investment. The investment must be profitable and sustainable, and the application must be made before the investment begins. The investment project must be carried out within three years after the decision on support. The support areas include several counties and specific municipalities according to a detailed map and list. Applications are made via the e-service My Application, and investments over SEK 25 million are applied for directly to the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth.

• The investment must be within support area 1, 2 or 3 according to the map.
• The investment must be growth-oriented and contribute to sustainable development for the company and the region.
• The business must be assessed as profitable and sustainable.
• Large companies can only receive support for new establishments or new activities that differ from previous activities.
• Applications must be submitted before the investment is made.
• The investment must be carried out within three years from the decision.
