About the grant
The growth loan is a loan for innovative small and medium-sized limited companies that are in or facing growth and want to grow faster than their own economy or ordinary bank financing can manage. The loan is designed for companies that have a clear plan for expansion and need capital to take the next step in their development. It is especially suitable for initiatives that involve expansion, increased production, establishment in new markets or other investments that strengthen the company's competitiveness. The loan can be used for initiatives that create sustainable growth and profitability, such as development of innovations and business ideas, investments, expansion to new markets, recruitment, digitalisation, working capital or company acquisitions. The loan amount can be up to SEK 10 million and the financing share from Almi is normally 30 to 50 percent of the capital need, but can vary depending on risk and repayment ability. The growth loan is offered on favourable terms thanks to a guarantee from the European Investment Fund, which means longer term, initial repayment freedom and lower interest. Financing is provided with support from the European Union under the InvestEU Fund.
Requirements
- The company must be an established limited company registered in Sweden with up to 250 employees.
- The company must have a clear plan for growth or development.
- Co-financing is normally required, for example from owners, banks or other external financiers.
- Collateral is required and varies depending on the company's situation and the nature of the initiative.
