About the grant
The Sustainability Fund was started in 2022 and has a total of sixteen million SEK allocated for the period 2022–2026. The fund finances projects that contribute to sustainable development and reduce Lund University's climate impact. It is intended to support ideas across the entire sustainability area, including ecological, social and economic aspects. Support can be applied for by both researchers and students at the university. For students, scholarships are offered to work full-time on their idea for 3 months during the summer, including business coaching, workshops and a place in LU Innovation's incubator VentureLab. For researchers, there are two types of support: funding for early ideas and funding for verification and validation of innovation projects originating from the university's research. Researchers can apply for up to 150,000 SEK per project. Administration is handled by the Research, Collaboration and Innovation section with selection by an assessment group consisting of representatives from the Sustainability Forum, student unions, finance, building and external actors.
