About the grant
Crown Princess Victoria's Fund is a national fundraising campaign starting on Sweden's National Day and aims to give more children and young people with disabilities or chronic illness the opportunity for an active and meaningful leisure time on equal terms with other children. The fund was founded in 1997 as Radiohjälpen's National Day collection under the patronage of Crown Princess Victoria. It has supported projects across Sweden that contribute to community, joy of movement and increased independence for children and young people. In 2025, 23 projects were granted support totalling 8.7 million SEK, reaching 5,707 children and young people nationwide. Examples of projects include "I Can Cycle" which teaches children with intellectual or neuropsychiatric disabilities to ride a two-wheeler in a safe environment with trained leaders. The fund supports activities such as camps, sports and leisure activities requiring extra resources such as adapted equipment and more leaders. The purpose is to break isolation, strengthen self-esteem and create opportunities for children to develop and meet new friends. The fund also receives bequests which go to project activities, amounting to 31.8 million SEK in 2025.
