About the grant
The LIFE+SCALLUVIA project aimed to develop a subarea of Kruibeke-Bazel-Rupelmonde (89.97 ha) into a high-quality site in good conservation status functioning as flood protection and recreational area. The project included restoration of 79.64 ha alluvial forests and 10.23 ha small lakes, with positive effects on species of European importance. The project also planned to introduce a tailored forest management plan, regulate recreation via an accessibility plan and increase public support and involve local volunteers.
