Project Mittstråket 2.0 is an EU-funded collaboration project between Region Jämtland Härjedalen, the Swedish Transport Administration and Krokom Municipality. The project aims to make the Mittbanan a fossil-free transport corridor with increased capacity, accessibility and reduced travel times. Measures include investments to improve interchange points, removal of unsafe level crossings, promotion of shifting freight from road to rail and improvements in passenger transport. The project runs 2023-2027 and is funded by the EU Regional Fund, Region Jämtland Härjedalen and Region Västernorrland with a total budget of 285 million SEK.
