About the grant
Gålöstiftelsen provides grants to children and youth with disabilities or special needs registered in Greater Stockholm (Stockholm County except Norrtälje, Södertälje, Nykvarn and Nynäshamn municipalities). Upper age limit is 30 years. The grant can be used for recreational trips (preferably within Sweden, foreign trips can be granted in special cases with medical certificate), camp stays and summer camps (including group trips for special school classes and teachers' travel costs), associations with activities for the target group as well as special aids, course fees and leisure activities. Grants are not given to entire families and cannot be applied for retroactively for already completed trips. Applications are made via a special form ordered from the office and can be submitted twice a year, in March and August, with decisions in May and October respectively. Gålöstiftelsen allocates approximately 500,000 SEK annually for recreation support.

- Recipients must be registered in Greater Stockholm (excluding Norrtälje, Södertälje, Nykvarn, Nynäshamn).
- Age limit is 30 years.
- Grants are not given to entire families, but shall cover costs for the disabled person.
