Support for energy efficiency

About the grant

Support is given to companies wanting to make investments for energy efficiency, such as replacing primary heat source (e.g. oil boiler, electric boiler, direct electric heating) with more sustainable alternatives like district heating, geothermal/ground/sea heat, wood chips, pellets, air-water heat or air-air heat. Support can also be given for replacement with LED lighting and other energy efficiency measures such as heat exchangers, ventilation units, heat recovery, additional insulation/construction and solar panels. To apply, contact with the municipality's energy and climate advisor or completed energy mapping is required. The company must be a small or medium-sized enterprise with operations in Norrbotten County, at least one full-time employee and conduct full-time operations in the premises. Property owners can also apply under certain conditions. Support can amount to 40% of approved investment costs, max 240,000 SEK, with investment cost between 100,000 and 600,000 SEK. Application is made digitally via the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth's e-service My Application. Investment start must not occur before decision. Support is paid in arrears.

Requirements

• The company must belong to the category of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) including groups.
• The investment must concern the company's fixed workplace in one of Norrbotten County's municipalities.
• The company must have at least one full-time employee with salary according to collective agreement or equivalent and conduct full-time operations in the premises.
• Contact with the municipality's energy and climate advisor or completed energy mapping is required.
• Active sustainability work must be demonstrated, e.g. via the Sustainability Dialogue with Almi Nord.
• The investment must not start before application is submitted and decision made.
• All necessary permits must be in place before the investment starts.
• Salaries and employment benefits must at least correspond to applicable collective agreement.
• Quotes must be attached according to instructions.
• If preliminary support is granted, the investment must be carried out within 1 year.
• Companies in grocery stores/fuel stations cannot receive support.
• Companies in the agriculture and fisheries sector cannot receive support, except for investments for processing of product/service.
• The investment must not be predominantly financed with public funds.
