About the grant

The European Commission has launched the "Women in the Blue Economy" call for proposals under the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) with a budget of 2.5 million euros. The purpose is to increase women's participation in sectors such as fishing, aquaculture, shipbuilding, maritime transport, offshore renewable energy, blue bioeconomy as well as inland and offshore aquaculture. Up to 2 projects are expected to receive funding with a co-financing rate of 90%. The goal is to overcome barriers in recruitment, training, capacity building, technical cooperation and promotion to enable full and safe participation in the sustainable blue economy and contribute to a more equal society.
