About the grant

Sparbanksstiftelsen Kronan, together with Swedbank's offices, awards Local Fund to stimulate activities within the foundation's operational area and strengthen Swedbank's local presence. The grant can be applied for by associations and organisations based in the operational area or for projects carried out there and benefiting the residents. Applications are made via the foundation's application system and handled by local bank offices and elected representatives. The grant is mainly a one-time amount and can be up to one price base amount (SEK 59,200 for 2026). Application periods are 1 January to 31 March and 1 July to 30 September with decisions in April/May and October/November respectively. Grants are not given to private individuals, companies, municipalities/regions, already completed projects, ongoing activities, fees, politically/religiously affiliated organisations, travel/food/refreshments to a large extent, or as sponsorship. Grants for CPR training, defibrillators and warming cabinets are not granted here but via the Heart Appeal project. The operational area covers 16 municipalities in southern Sweden.

Requirements

• Applications must be submitted by a board member of the association.
• Applications must be submitted via the foundation's application system.
• The project/purpose must fit into at least one of the categories: business, education, research, sports or culture.
• The association/organisation must be based in the foundation's operational area or the project must be carried out there and benefit the residents.
• It is not required to be a customer of Swedbank but it is desirable.
