About the grant
The mentorship programme is a literary mentorship programme offered by Region Sörmland for the third consecutive year. The purpose is for a professional, experienced author to mentor a person who is assessed to be at the beginning of their literary career. The programme is based on a model from Uppsala and other regions. Mentor and mentee meet once a month for six months starting spring 2026 and ending autumn 2026, 1–2 hours per occasion. The first and last meetings take place in the region's premises, other meetings at a location of choice. The mentor is a professional author with experience, published by an established publisher and has several literary works behind them. The mentee is a person who has progressed in their literary development, e.g. has attended writing education or published work, and also has a connection to Sörmland. The mentor is remunerated SEK 30,000 + VAT. Applications are made via a joint form for mentor and mentee, and the deadline is 1 March 2026. Matching is done by the region's literature developer in consultation with experts.
